Life Cycles of the Mind

There are events that occur in the mind that are considered cycles. Life events also occur in cycles. Life events are simply reflections of events that have occurred in the mind.

For example, when we conclude a relationship, such as in divorce, we have decided to end a cycle of development within our minds. We perhaps developed trust within a partnership which may preclude us to develop a sense of belonging. This relationship then advanced our mind in a direction of learning the value of taking time to be with others.

Once we’ve learned how to belong and hence now know how to make time for others, we may not need the relationship that created the circumstances for our learning. So we will end the relationship once it has served its purpose.

These are concepts one should know because it is how life cycles work. Many think of life cycles as the physical or numerical age of a person. Spiritually, life cycles are determined by the experiences one has lived through as well as their level of understanding within their mind.

There are always varying degrees of how things change. Just don’t ever expect the change to be to the level of your preference. The level of change will always be equal to the level of one’s consciousness, whatever that might be. We cannot judge how long the cycles last or at what age it should or should not be completed or begun. Cycles of learning can last for many lifetimes. People who have worked with me long enough know to ask if someone in their life will change enough to a degree of compatibility “in this lifetime!”. Yes, cycles of learning often times continue from this lifetime onto the next. For the most part….what you see is what you get as far as people are concerned. Change at the mental and spiritual levels take lifetimes before it can be expressed consistently on a physical level. You can often tell what changes has truly taken place by looking at the life events, that is the reflection of their mental learning and hence spiritual evolvement or de-evolvement- Remember that!

There is no need to judge. The level of consciousness can evolve or de-evolve. Each person decides for themselves which road to take in what they want to create for themselves. Not all souls are interested in evolving as many may assume; therein lies our skill in discerning who to let in or to keep out of our lives. If a person or situation is compatible for you, then great. If it is not compatible for you, then choose differently so the outcome can be better in your life. Drama does not need to necessarily play out negatively in your life. Simply choose differently and consider the events in your life as a reflection of your level of consciousness, good or bad.

Mind – an advanced aspect of your true being

Many hold the belief that the mind is somewhat part of the brain or connected to another physical part of the human body. This is incorrect as the human brain is very physical and can be realised within the range of the five main senses. It is physical object that the eyes can see and the hand can hold.

The mind on the other hand is not physical. It cannot be seen with the eyes, measured with instruments or repaired in surgery. This entails that the brain is not the mind, but simply a part of the physical body. There is nothing within the body that can be identified as being the mind because your body and mind are different. For example, sometimes, when your body is relaxed and immobile, the mind can be very busy, darting from one thought to another.

If the mind is neither the brain nor any other part of the body, then what is it? It is a formless continuum that functions to perceive and understand objects. Because the mind is formless or non-physical by nature, it is not obstructed by physical objects, -an advanced aspect of your true being.

It is very important to be able to distinguish the disturbed states of mind from peaceful states. Only an unbalanced state of mind can disturb your inner peace. Thoughts based on anger, jealousy and desirous attachment can be labelled ‘delusions’, the principal underlying cause for much of humanity’s suffering.

You may think that your suffering is caused by other people, poor material conditions or society, but in reality, it derives from your own deluded states of mind. The essence of most Soulvana (Spiritual) practices is to reduce and eventually eradicate your delusions and replace them with permanent inner peace. This is a large aspect of human life.

An essential understanding in which you need to align with is that liberation from suffering cannot be found outside of mind and your own heart. Permanent liberation can only be realised by purifying the mind. Therefore, if you want to become free from problems and attain lasting peace and happiness, then you need to increase your knowledge and understanding of how the mind operates.

Scientific research suggests that humans are only using about 8% to 12% of their brain power; the same goes for the capacity of the mind. When we are consciously awake, we are utilising 10% of the mind. The other 90% is the subconscious mind, which is programmable similar to a computer. Many have been programmed by outside sources in ways only the subconscious intelligence can define and store, mainly from symbolic advertisements, radio, TV, society’s expectations and so on. This conditioning can build up layers of an illusory personality, causing somebody to never be themselves from heart, a catalyst for suffering and unhappiness.

You may have heard the term ‘thoughts are things’, as there are many published self-help books available centred on the subject of thought power. Remember, you are a creator being in the creator universe. Anything is possible with the right knowledge, dedication and self-belief.

Love & Compassion brings us Happiness , Confidence and Self-worth

The reason why love and compassion bring the greatest happiness is simply that our nature cherishes them above all else. The need for love lies at the very foundation of human existence. It results from the profound interdependence we all share with one another. We are all connected as One.

However capable and skillful an individual may be, left alone, he or she will not survive. However vigorous and independent one may feel during the most prosperous periods of life, when one is sick or very young or very old, one must depend on the support of others.

Inter-dependence, of course, is a fundamental law of nature. Not only higher forms of life but also many of the smallest insects are social beings who, without any religion, law or education, survive by mutual cooperation based on an innate recognition of their interconnectedness. The most subtle level of material phenomena is also governed by interdependence. All phenomena from the planet we inhabit to the oceans, clouds, forests and flowers that surround us, arise in dependence upon subtle patterns of energy. Without their proper interaction, they dissolve and decay.

It is because our own human existence is so dependent on the help of others that our need for love lies at the very foundation of our existence. Therefore we need a genuine sense of responsibility and a sincere concern for the welfare of others.

If you have a sincere and open heart, you naturally feel self- worth and confidence, and there is no need to be fearful of others.

Our Heart and Mind

Exploring and expanding our Love and Compassion is a Sacred Journey of the Heart combining the science and spirit of our connection. It reveals how modern science is proving what ancient peoples have known all along: we are all connected – and that connection is the human heart.
The heart is the single organ that not only creates a unified field among all people but also creates a harmonic field with the earth itself.

Your physical heart exists in one place, just as your physical brain exists in one place. But the energetic qualities of heart and mind are vibrations — not objects. You know that energy qualities are not limited to one location. Could it be that the qualities of heart and mind live within every cell of your body? Could each atom of your aura carry the inner resonance of love and wisdom?

You can find the answers to these questions only through your own inner spiritual experiences. I can tell you about it, but you can only really prove it to yourself through your own personal experience. But that’s how it is with spiritual reality — no matter how many people insist that something is true, you can only verify it through your inner realizations.

Beyond thinking and feeling

Heart and mind are more than just feeling and thinking. They have deep mysterious essences that exist within you, as living consciousness vibrating within you. Your own body is a sacred temple for your soul, and your soul is made of divine substance. Your divine soul contains the energies of cosmic love and cosmic wisdom, in every particle of itself.

When you recognize that the energies or qualities of love and wisdom can be felt or sensed in every part of your body, you understand the famous statement that you are a spiritual being having a human experience.

Your body is a living tuning fork that is sensitive to divine truth. This is the reason for the ancient advice to find the truth within you. Your inner tuning fork is tuning into the deepest essence of your soul; what many people call their higher self.

The divine Creator that created you exists deep within all of its creations.

Being infinite, divine essence has no definite form or fixed nature. So to simplistically say that heart is love is a limited understanding. In the same way, to say that mind is wisdom is a limited understanding. Beyond wisdom, there is wisdom-love, and beyond love, there is love-wisdom. Love and wisdom are not in conflict. And when they seem to be, then you haven’t yet accessed your deeper levels of perception for the particular situation where the conflict seems to exist.

And beyond these labels of love, compassion, and wisdom, there is the quiet space where you just know that you know. The simple truth, beyond words, beyond logic, and beyond emotions, is always deep within you. But it’s not what you expect, and not as spiritually grand or exciting as you would suppose. But as you may have realized, it’s quietly sublime, rather than dramatically grand; it is balanced cosmic simplicity.

May your explorations into deep heart and deep mind bring you serene inner delight. As you gently explore the deeper truths, you resonate with the divine center of the cosmos, and the universal radiance shines forth within your infinite heart and mind. Beyond love, beyond logic, and beyond poetry — your deep center is the cosmic source of love and wisdom.

Namaste.

Mind is Clarity

Sometimes the biggest questions you can ask yourself—Who am I? What is my purpose? Where can I find fulfilment? What is the mind?—come down to a very simple one: What shall I do today? Its all boils down to two words CLARITY & AWARENESS.

The world’s wisdom traditions tell us to look inside for the real obstacles that block the way to fulfillment. Outer demands will always fill the time given to them. Pitching into the swirling activity of daily life inevitably makes existence seem stressed and chaotic. What you can do instead is to examine your reality “in here,” which is where clarity can be found. This method is heavily weighted on our mind. Therefore, Kath feels that our Mind is one of the many Clarity Tools we have.

World’s wisdom tradition teaches that the unsettled mind comes about through one thing only: losing sight of who we really are. You can’t be a puppet of outside demands and pressures unless you see yourself as secondary while the world “out there” is primary. After all, how can you eat, put a roof over your head, raise a family, and so on without plunging into the hard realities of daily existence? The answer lies in finding out who you really are—a conscious agent who can choose, at any time, to live from the level of the true self.

Are you living your true self today? Live life with clarity.

25th June 2016 Connective Session: Compassion

Compassion is a part of Love – When you have love, you have compassion
For one to have compassion, you must first be completely passionate (love) about your Beingness. ~kg

Compassion

When you are not identified with anything, you will be absolutely virtuous. When you are not identified with anything, only then you are truly capable of compassion. When you are identified, you can only be biased. When you are compassionate you are always virtuous.
People being sympathetic to certain causes or certain people is not compassion. When you are passionate about everything, when your passion has become all encompassing, then you are compassionate. Compassion is not little pity or sympathy for something. When your passion encompasses everything, you are compassionate.

Compassion is the highest virtue in a way and compassion is not possible if you are identified with this or that. Only when you are able to just look at life as life, only then you can be compassionate. If you look at it as my life or your life – no compassion. When life is just life, there is compassion.

Virtue

Virtue is define as the behaviour of showing high moral standards. Virtue is for all human beings and compassion is always the highest virtue.

Compassion means including everything in your passion. When the whole existence is involved in your passion, you are compassionate.

12th June 2016 Connective Session: In The Flow

We live in a universe of spiritual, psychic, and physical energy by virtue of which all living things exist through their ability to transmute this universal energy into something individual.

We become endowed with the ability to transmit our own energy field, our individual unit of power. Humans are energy transformers; we are alive and developing in proportion to how much of this universal energy we accept and how freely it flows through us. The better we transmit this energy or allow it to flow through us, the higher grade we occupy; the more alive and contented and effective we become. Flow is the secret to happiness.

Flow is the natural, effortless unfolding of our life in a way that moves us toward wholeness and harmony.

To truly walk the path means to be consciously engaged with what you’re feeling and experiencing in in every single moment. So when you get up in the morning and take a shower, are you already thinking about a busy day ahead, or instead feeling the fullness of the moment? Enjoying the water as it splashes down over your skin?

If you conduct action – any action – and you’re not fully, consciously engaged in what you’re doing and not aware of what’s going on around you, then you’re not present. You’re lost in a program and living in an illusion. In such instances, you’re not really living at all! Being in the Flow of life allow one to be truly Present,Presence.

Flow is natural because we personally do nothing to cause it to exist. Whether or not we give it our conscious attention, it just is. Sometimes we may hardly know it’s there: when obscured by our fear or anger it can run underground like a river. But when we move into greater awareness and trust, it emerges in all its strength and power.

Flow is effortless because when we learn to swim with it, its currents move us easily, smoothly and gently through life. Our stress, struggle, and uncertainty drop away, and our joy, peace, satisfaction, happiness, and effectiveness increase.

Flow is an unfolding because it furthers our potentiality—it brings us into life as it is meant to be lived. We often have an “aha” feeling of familiarity, of rightness, when we’re “in the flow.” And, flow does not only involve our personal unfolding but the unfolding of a larger pattern in which we play a part.

Flow has a tremendous power to transform our lives. Like water, it is dynamic and still, strong and receptive, persevering and yielding. We can’t push or force flow any more than we can a river; gently and surely, it has its wa.

Flow speaks to being part of something bigger than ourselves. It runs counter to the sense of being out there alone, of ending where our skin ends. Not only does quantum theory substantiate this interconnectedness, so do the findings of the major spiritual traditions.

Till the next time.

28th May 2016 Connective Session: The Flow III

Allowing Flow to return to your life

I believe that i’m co creating my experience with an energy that is part of me, that surrounds me and that is bigger than me. I like to most frequently refer to it as the Universe, but also it’s God or my higher self (inner guide). It’s my trust in a source of something to have faith in, and often that is just you having a trust in your inner self, your energy and personal power.

Now, when we are blocked in some way, it’s usually because we are IN OUR OWN WAY! I resonate with this idea a lot, sometimes I swear I can see myself looming in front of me.

I feel connected to my own feelings and totally trust the Universe has my back but can still struggle often to completely relinquish control.

SURRENDER

This is the word that you need, this is the word to replace control. This is the word that is infinitely better than ‘let go’.

I can tell you that ‘I Surrender’ is the most powerful mantra and thought process I have ever used. It is part of my daily practice. I have found an instant shift in many of my thought processes.

Therefore, to allow flow to return to your life, we need to surrender ourselves. When I say ‘I surrender’ my intent is that I am surrendering my anxieties, ego thoughts, obsessions, problems up on a plate, I am surrendering TO allow things to move forward naturally and as they should. I am trusting that there is a flow to my life and that by surrendering my control over things I am making way for positive change and opportunities. I am stepping back into my present moment and not trying to force things into my life.

Surrendering frees me from the negative patterns that my ego mind creates.

Today, start the “I Surrender” Mantra.

14th May 2016 Connective Session: The Flow II

The state of flow, or being “in the zone”, is a state of peak performance. The key to being in the state Flow is Manoeuvre. The attitude to manoeuvre with ease is flexibility and allowing.

The flow state has been described by the world’s greatest thinkers as the most productive and creative state of mind in which to work. In addition, positive psychologists–most notably Dr. Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, Ph.D.–argue that achieving the flow state on a regular basis is a key component of happiness. That is, by learning how to enter the state of flow you can increase your productivity, be more creative, be more flexible and be happier, all at the same time.

How Does It Feel to Be in the Flow?

These seven points summarize how some people responded that they felt when in the flow state:

  1. You’re completely involved in what you’re doing: you’re completely focused and concentrated.
  2. There’s a sense of ecstasy–of being outside of everyday reality.
  3. There’s a great inner clarity: you know what needs to be done and you get immediate feedback on how well you’re doing.
  4. You know that the activity is doable, that you have the necessary skills to complete the task successfully.
  5. You lose your sense of self and all of your worries and concerns drift away.
  6. You lose track of time and you’re completely focused on the present moment.
  7. There’s an intrinsic motivation—whatever produces flow becomes it’s own reward.

Did you notice similarities on what Katherine is doing in the gathering? Flow is a basic “ingredient” required to facilitate a soulvana “feast”.

Interestingly enough, the idea of flow came into being as result of research on happiness. Researchers began asking themselves: “What makes us happy?” and “When are we most happy”? As a result of this research psychologists realized that being able to enter the flow state–which is a very enjoyable experience–is a key component of happiness.

Conclusion

The ability to get into flow makes personal peak performances possible. It is a great experience and I would love to hear your own ways of getting in the flow or what you experienced being in the Zone.

Till the next time.
