Life Cycles of the Mind

There are events that occur in the mind that are considered cycles. Life events also occur in cycles. Life events are simply reflections of events that have occurred in the mind.

For example, when we conclude a relationship, such as in divorce, we have decided to end a cycle of development within our minds. We perhaps developed trust within a partnership which may preclude us to develop a sense of belonging. This relationship then advanced our mind in a direction of learning the value of taking time to be with others.

Once we’ve learned how to belong and hence now know how to make time for others, we may not need the relationship that created the circumstances for our learning. So we will end the relationship once it has served its purpose.

These are concepts one should know because it is how life cycles work. Many think of life cycles as the physical or numerical age of a person. Spiritually, life cycles are determined by the experiences one has lived through as well as their level of understanding within their mind.

There are always varying degrees of how things change. Just don’t ever expect the change to be to the level of your preference. The level of change will always be equal to the level of one’s consciousness, whatever that might be. We cannot judge how long the cycles last or at what age it should or should not be completed or begun. Cycles of learning can last for many lifetimes. People who have worked with me long enough know to ask if someone in their life will change enough to a degree of compatibility “in this lifetime!”. Yes, cycles of learning often times continue from this lifetime onto the next. For the most part….what you see is what you get as far as people are concerned. Change at the mental and spiritual levels take lifetimes before it can be expressed consistently on a physical level. You can often tell what changes has truly taken place by looking at the life events, that is the reflection of their mental learning and hence spiritual evolvement or de-evolvement- Remember that!

There is no need to judge. The level of consciousness can evolve or de-evolve. Each person decides for themselves which road to take in what they want to create for themselves. Not all souls are interested in evolving as many may assume; therein lies our skill in discerning who to let in or to keep out of our lives. If a person or situation is compatible for you, then great. If it is not compatible for you, then choose differently so the outcome can be better in your life. Drama does not need to necessarily play out negatively in your life. Simply choose differently and consider the events in your life as a reflection of your level of consciousness, good or bad.

Till the next time….

Mind – an advanced aspect of your true being

Many hold the belief that the mind is somewhat part of the brain or connected to another physical part of the human body. This is incorrect as the human brain is very physical and can be realised within the range of the five main senses. It is physical object that the eyes can see and the hand can hold.

The mind on the other hand is not physical. It cannot be seen with the eyes, measured with instruments or repaired in surgery. This entails that the brain is not the mind, but simply a part of the physical body. There is nothing within the body that can be identified as being the mind because your body and mind are different. For example, sometimes, when your body is relaxed and immobile, the mind can be very busy, darting from one thought to another.

If the mind is neither the brain nor any other part of the body, then what is it? It is a formless continuum that functions to perceive and understand objects. Because the mind is formless or non-physical by nature, it is not obstructed by physical objects, -an advanced aspect of your true being.

It is very important to be able to distinguish the disturbed states of mind from peaceful states. Only an unbalanced state of mind can disturb your inner peace. Thoughts based on anger, jealousy and desirous attachment can be labelled ‘delusions’, the principal underlying cause for much of humanity’s suffering.

You may think that your suffering is caused by other people, poor material conditions or society, but in reality, it derives from your own deluded states of mind. The essence of most Soulvana (Spiritual) practices is to reduce and eventually eradicate your delusions and replace them with permanent inner peace. This is a large aspect of human life.

An essential understanding in which you need to align with is that liberation from suffering cannot be found outside of mind and your own heart. Permanent liberation can only be realised by purifying the mind. Therefore, if you want to become free from problems and attain lasting peace and happiness, then you need to increase your knowledge and understanding of how the mind operates.

Scientific research suggests that humans are only using about 8% to 12% of their brain power; the same goes for the capacity of the mind. When we are consciously awake, we are utilising 10% of the mind. The other 90% is the subconscious mind, which is programmable similar to a computer. Many have been programmed by outside sources in ways only the subconscious intelligence can define and store, mainly from symbolic advertisements, radio, TV, society’s expectations and so on. This conditioning can build up layers of an illusory personality, causing somebody to never be themselves from heart, a catalyst for suffering and unhappiness.

You may have heard the term ‘thoughts are things’, as there are many published self-help books available centred on the subject of thought power. Remember, you are a creator being in the creator universe. Anything is possible with the right knowledge, dedication and self-belief.

10th Jan 2016 Connective Session: Emotion Peeling Process

2016 is going to be an important year of healing for our planet. Let’s all step into the role of a healer and start healing ourselves first. When we feel bliss, our mama earth will too be healed in some level, for we are part of this integrated system together.

Would you like to know your shadow side? Would you like to know how to integrate and cherish unwanted aspects of yourself? Would you like to follow your bliss?

In our gathering, we dived deep into our psyche, find our shadow side and Katherine gave practical advise on how to integrate it and heal ourselves to feel whole again. We used the tarot cards to find our blockages and Katherine advise us to follow our bliss in life.

We have experienced shifts of frequencies thereby shifting our thoughts and energy patterns through our session. Katherine worked to remove deep core emotional blockages in everyone through the support from our Universe. Kath is humbled and honoured of this gift.

Emotional healing is never linear but is likened to peeling an onion.

In the healing process, Katherine guided on what the tarot card is showing us. From the most basic level, we worked deep into our psyche to find our shadow side and what are our blockages and then worked on each consciousness level. This is a process Katherine termed as “Emotion Peeling” Process. Every layers of peeling is similar to “emotion surgery and applying of medication on your emotional wounds”. Kath guarantees that everyone can be healed and will recover back with Love , Joy and Peace. The only catch is We Must Allow the healing to take place.

We started the session with “THE DISSOLVING SHADOWS MEDITATION”

“Why would you want to do this”
Because the Shadow Feminine represents all those parts of ourselves that we hide away because we don’t feel good enough, shameful, ugly etc. But she is persistent and she doesn’t like being suppressed, so she will show up in your life as the Saboteur, the Crazy Maker or the Drama Queen.
When we meet with the Shadow Feminine she provides us with an opportunity to dig beneath the surface, find our beauty, our strengths and our gifts; and in doing so we set ourselves free from being afraid of our shadow.
Meeting and embracing the Shadow Feminine is one gorgeous stepping in reclaiming and owning our Personal Power!

The shadow’s only purpose is to define who and what you are by being what you are not. That is its only purpose. Once that purpose has been fulfilled and you feel your soul again then the shadow can and must dissolve.

You must now live your True Self. The perfect Soul.

Shadows are not you. They are not who you are.
You are Light, You are Peace , Love, Joy, Goodness and this Soul. You are true and honest Light of God, This is what you are in your everyday life. You must honestly be true to yourSelf. Never sublimate, hide from or deny these shadows again always. Look at them honestly and dissolve them immediately.

Trust that all of you have a meaningful and nourishing time together with Kath again.

Namaste! Om !

With Love & Hugs.

19th Dec 2015 Connective Session: Shadow Attributes

Its great to catch up with all of you again after 3.5months break.

We had the chance to discuss on the subject ” Shadow Attributes” or what the common folks called “Inner Darkness”.

Facing and embracing your inner darkness has nothing to do with becoming evil. It is also not an impossible task that will overwhelm and destroy you. It’s looking at all you, and only you can embrace all of you. One of the biggest problems many of us face come from running from our inner darkness. Some people go to great lengths to do all kinds of good deeds to try to erase, counterbalance, or avoid their darkness, but wherever you go, there it is. When unconfronted, the darkness thrives. It exists precisely because we don’t look at it. That is the nature of the dark. It is the absence of the light. Just start to turn and look at it, and already it is evaporating.

In psychology, the dark side of human nature is often described as the alter ego, the id, or the lower self. The great Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung called it the “shadow.” By shadow, he meant the negative side of the personality, the sum total of all those unpleasant qualities that we would prefer to hide.

Kath leveraged on Ghetto Tarot (a photographic interpretation deck) to guide us to interpreting our shadows. We then went on to understanding our shadows and how to dissolve these shadows through the guidance of the tarot.

By knowing our shadows, we created awareness of it. Then we should acknowledged and faced it courageously.

5 Tips For Facing Your Shadows

  1. Get an outside perspective. Many people are so mired in their beliefs that they have no perspective about themselves or how they influence other people. This is good time to ask for outside perspectives from friends and family. You will also have to learn how to listen to criticism, which is always a worthwhile spiritual practice.
  2. Journal. Now, that you have some more perspective, it’s time to sit down and consider what people are telling you about how you act and how you treat others. Why do you act that way? Why do you treat others the way you do? These are some starter questions to get you going.
  3. Be vulnerable. There’s no comfortable way to be uncomfortable, and a lot of those painful feelings are going to make you feel intensely vulnerable. Lean into this discomfort and see what you find.
  4. Keep breathing. Especially when some old pain and trauma starts surfacing, it’s easy to let the ego-self convince us that we’re being overwhelmed and can’t handle it. Keep breathing. Focus even more on your breathing the more intense the emotion coming up. Emotions are always in motion, so they will pass, possibly making space for a new self discovery.
  5. Find help. If you really are struggling, this is why spiritual healers, therapists, psychologist, psychiatrists, and spiritual teachers exist. Asking for help can be a really important step in facing things that feel too frightening to look at on your own.

In our future sessions, we will continue to listen deeply to our souls so that we start setting goals in total alignment with what our SOUL is craving for.

We will continue to discuss topics that will nourished our limited time on earth. Am sure all of you will emerged everyday as more innovative and successful CREATOR of your life.

Namaste.

With Love & Hugs.

06th Sept 2015 Connective Session: Self-Awakening

Thanks for your time with Kath on the 06th Sept 2015 . I am humbled. Thanks Universe and all angels for supporting our learning.

Kath shared so many stuffs. However, the highlights are:

1) Awakening Series – Auto Correction Mechanism 1: “You can have anything you want as long as you don’t need it.”

Need is a fear based energy and anything that comes from need is actually rooted in a sense of lack within you. You cannot—with true satisfaction—manifest what you love when you are in need, or therefore, in the lack of the very thing you desire. When you remember that, you’ll allow things to come to you rather than chase things.

Important minor detail: when you are in need of something, or driving a desire out of fear, it’s not that it won’t manifest because it will, but you will still feel a sense of lack or need, or insecurity of now losing what’s been manifested. You would have experienced this somewhat like when you set out on a goal and you complete it and think to yourself, “is that it?”
The problem: Needing something that you would otherwise love out of fear or lack.

The solution: Rather than focusing on what you desire when you feel a need for something, focus on all the things you do have in your life right now, feel abundant in that, and give space to your desire until the need drops away.

Sometimes you have to be patient, but when the need melts away by focusing on what you already have, you will realize you’re more abundant than you thought, and you can re-connect with what you originally desired out of a pure love rather than need.

2) Awakening Series – Auto Correction Mechanism 2: “You want something in life, ask for it — but from within your heart first.”

It’s not as important to ask another for what you desire as it is to connect with the feeling of love that you have for something. If you are in your heart, then you’re in an open energy, which is the energy of receiving. It’s when you’re open that you attract more possibilities in your life.

And actually, you don’t really “attract” more possibilities! You merely realize that those possibilities have always and will always be there, when you’re open because openness is love and love is infinite.

The problem: Asking for something that you may, or may not, deserve will get you results ONLY sometimes.

The solution: “Don’t look for why you don’t have, look for why you deserve to have.”
If you can focus on the feeling of why you love something with your whole heart, you will feel as though you already have it. When you are one with something, it’s yours. First feel it in your heart, then be patient as you realize you deserve it the more you connect with the feeling of love for it.
NOTE: You don’t need to believe in yourself, or become a deserving person; the way you deserve something is by loving it completely.

The truth is that it’s impossible for you not to have what you truly love. Love is an infinite energy; and it’s your natural state of being.

The next part of our gathering, Kath also shared her thoughts on some questions on spirituality and the so many “Whys.” queried from the participants.

Pondering Questions:

  • What is the purpose of spiritual enlightnment?
  • What is the purpose of leaving the Source and going back to the Source?
  • What happens after we attain enlightenment?

Well, Katherine does not have any “right” answers or a matter of fact, there isn’t any right answers but more of what’s connected to individual souls, nonetheless, she shared her thoughts and ideas.

For Katherine, she choose to live life SIMPLY. Just Breath and that’s IT. Life as IT IS. I am IT. IT is IT. IT is I AM. I AM is I AM. PERIOD.

Orange Squeeze Experience

Finally, we ended with our ORANGE SQUEEZE and Juice FEAST.
When you squeeze an orange, you get orange juice because that’s what inside. When someone puts the pressure on you and out of you comes anything other than love, it’s because that’s what you’ve allowed to be inside. Once you take away all those negative things you don’t want in your life and replace then with love, you’ll find yourself living a highly functioning life.

For the next 3 months, Katherine will be out for explorative travels.

We shall meet again on December 2015.

Namaste!

May 13th 2014 Connective Session: Searching for Twin flame

Your soul is consciousness or thought frequency – a light or a soul spark of light. Physical reality is made of electromagnetic energy which has poles (north/south), polarity, duality, opposites, male/female, yin/yang.

When your soul enters the physical, it divides in half – male and female – above and below – experiencing together simultaneously. Encoded in every soul’s DNA is the need to reunite with that twin aspect, or to seek that energy out through a physical soulmate. The need to reconnect keeps us linked to the other side and a knowing that Oneness awaits. Reunion comes through balance.

This session, we dedicated our time to discuss the search of our twin flame. We have completed the “candle-blue flame” ritual. In this ritual, we have got a clearer idea of twin flame energy and more learning is required for this important life lesson.

Some of the signs of a Twin Flame includes but not limited to the following:

  •  Instant Bond

If you have met your Twin Soul, the bond is immediate.This meeting is often marked by the feeling of finding the one you’ve been looking for, before a word has been exchanged. You instantly find yourself comfortable with this person, as if you already know them.

  • Unpredictable Separation

You can say or do no wrong when you are in the loving phase, but approaching the separation phase, the smallest thing can blow everything up and separate you for years. A little spat may end up causing a massive rift between you, and it maybe something you’d never fight over with anyone else. You’ll be forgiven for anything (given time) and no normal relationship rules apply.

  • All emotions are heightened and exaggerated

Both negative and positive emotions towards your Twin Soul are exaggerated compared to a normal relationship. When it stings, it stings good – and when it’s good it is amazing. Twin Soul relationships may be very turbulent, your only chance of harmony is to clear as much emotional baggage as possible.

  • Meeting young – separating – reuniting

Usually Twin Soul pairs meet quite young, in twenties or younger, and meet up again after living and learning a bit. Perhaps even happily ever after? Maybe.

  • Recurring numbers

You may be ‘haunted’ by certain numbers, they could be anything that mean something to you, but usually a repeated pair of numbers, most often 11:11 but may not be that. Usually they appear on a clock, but can appear anywhere. There may also be number triplets, in this case most often 111. Also pay attention to repeated dates.

See all of you in our next session.

May 1st 2014 Connective Session: Looking For Space Within

Looking for space in our life, fills up the space in our life. It exhausts us and makes us feel more and more frantic, and takes us further from help. Let the spaciousness of life find us. It is always here, which is precisely where we are.

~~~From The Shimmering World by Steven Harrison
These words give me pause for reflection each time I read them. They are an inspiring guide to living life. When we are confused or feel lost, then sit down and relax. Find your Middle Ground. Knowing that help is here in the space we are already in…..
Today session, we are working on a mental exercise – Looking For Space Within
This mental exercise is to helps train the mind to become aware of the space we are already in rather than the object that fill it or making us look outside of us.
When you look in any direction, try to make yourself aware of the spaces between the objects, rather than the objects themselves, as though what you were seeing was a picture on paper and you were able to use scissors to cut out the objects themselves, leaving only spaces between them. This exercise can expand the perceptions and help you to escape from preoccupations with the material world.
As you slowly open your eyes, imagine the sunrise coming out of your eyes and shining light on to a new day.
See all of you in our next session.
With Love & Light,
Katherine Goh
April 18 2014 Connective Session: Values
Our Connective Question: Write down ten people you admire and why you admire them, the qualities that give them value in your eyes. Try to recognize that quality in yourself
Last connective session, we invest our time to connect with what are the qualities we admire. Do we have the qualities? Many of the qualities we admire are literally free. Some of the common ones by the group are …
  • Wisdom
  • Functionality
  • Strategic
  • Smartness
  • Creativity
  • Frankness
  • Decisiveness
  • Loving-Kindness
  • Strong connectivity with others…
I am fascinated by values. Values we all hold dear to us. Make a list of the twenty things you value most in life. How many of these are free? Did your list include yourself?
I see that most people forgot to value themselves. If you do not value yourself, then how do you even value other things? Think !
If we were to prioritize our top three values what would yours be? Do you hold these values but not live them? Try to sit down with pen and paper. Write down your top three values in your life. Do your values show up in your real life?
How long will it take you? For some of us, we can jot it down quickly, but some of us are very frustrated by this exercise. Ask yourself why it was easy or hard. That is where I want your heart right now.
Why is it important to look at our values?
Let me give an example here of values and what we think of others or how we judge.
Lets say you are in line at a up-end supermarket. You see in front of you a woman with a child, a young child. This woman is dressed in very fine clothes. The child is dressed very nice. The woman puts her food down on the grocery counter. You notice she has nice steaks, lobster, fruits, vegetables, and candy and donuts. She looks up at the cashier and pays him with aided support vouchers.
How do we judge or put value judgements on this woman at the grocery counter? Maybe you thought it was good that she had some quality food such as steak and lobster, or you felt pangs of envy that she could afford them, or you judged her for buying such food.
What did you think or value on the she and the child wore as you noticed they were on welfare? This is where I want your mind to go. What do you really think of this scenario.
I hope this post can help you look at yourself and the people who you deal with in your life and ask yourself if you are judging a book by its cover. “To err is human” But to look within is Wise”
See all of you in our next session.
With Love & Light,
Katherine Goh
April 12 2014 Connective Session: Gratitude
Gratitude means thankfulness, counting your blessings, noticing simple pleasures, and acknowledging everything that you receive. It means learning to live your life as if everything were a miracle, and being aware on a continuous basis of how much you’ve been given and not take life for granted.
Gratitude shifts your focus from what your life lacks to the abundance that is already present. In addition, behavioral and psychological research has shown the surprising life improvements that can stem from the practice of gratitude. Giving thanks makes people happier and more resilient, it strengthens relationships, it improves health, and it reduces stress.
In our last connective session, we invest some time with ourselves to write our gratitude list. Some people are grateful for “bigger” things in life such as  freedom and time they have while some of us focus on the “smaller” things in life such as getting a good-paying job or travelling to another country. Whether its the “bigger” or “smaller” things in life, we practice gratitude in every breath we take.
It’s easy to feel gratitude on those good days. We are grateful because good things are happening, and we like that! If we are to be serious about our gratitude practice, however, we must also learn to be genuinely grateful on those not-so-great days. For example, the pain i am receiving that turns me to a tougher person. My husband always remind me, “What’s don’t break me makes me stronger”.
We can start by being grateful EVEN THOUGH all that “bad” stuff is happening; we can find other, better, things to focus on and be grateful for. Eventually, though, we can learn to be grateful BECAUSE those things are happening. We can, if we so choose, learn to find the blessing in any situation. The secret is to learn to stand our ground without resisting what is.
How to Start a Gratitude Practice to Change Your Life?
  1.  Write 1 gratitude letter to a person and post it to him/her. (That’s what we did in our last session. Those people we sent our gratitude letter should have received them by now.)
  2. Practice present-moment gratitude. As you move through your day, pause now and then when you remember, and think as you do something “I am grateful.”
  3. Share the gratitude. Partner with someone like what we did last session. You will keep each other going and that sense of obligation to that person will give you the push you need to write your list on those days when it just seems too hard.
  4. Lastly, Commit.This is a spiritual practice that gains momentum over time and with practice. Gratitude doesn’t seem to come as easily as grumbling does, and you will likely resist this exercise until the cows come home, as they say in New Zealand. Waiting for the resistance to pass is futile. Just do it.
There will be times in life when everything you have seems to be swept out to the sea. When that happens, stand your ground and just let it go. Like the tide, life has it’s own rhythm of ebb and flow. Things and people come into our lives, and things and people leave our lives, often before we are ready. Be grateful for the having of them, and also for the letting go, for it is all part of this delicious cycle we call Life.
See all of you in our next session.
With Love & Light,
Katherine Goh
March 29th 2014 Connective Session: Tarot Healing
If you ask someone who has never before worked with tarot about the purpose of tarot, they will most likely say something about fortune telling. It is true that tarot has an uncanny knack for predicting future events. As a tool of divination it is accurate, compelling and insightful. But if you ask a tarotist about the purpose of tarot, many will answer this way. Tarot is a tool for healing.
The ways in which tarot heals may be limitless. Over time, tarotists will develop and discover new ways to use these sacred images to bring healing. Each tarotist has unique practices, so no list of tarot’s usefulness could ever be comprehensive. The process of divination itself can be very healing. Whether we are reading for ourselves or others, a good tarot reading can bring us to a place of emotional balance and well-being. It can give new perspective, and reframe painful issues to create healthier and more productive thinking. A tarot reading can pinpoint problems and offer solutions.
Beyond the process of reading the cards, tarot can offer healing in a number of ways. We can use tarot images in meditation, visualization, goal setting, magick and manifestation.
Last connective session, we had our chakras healing through tarot. Below is a simple 7-cards chakra healing spread we used. Each card representing our different major seven chakras.
Chakra Healing Spread:
We also did Soul Healing with our tarot. We’re not born with a Map of Life but our Soul healing Tarot spread gets pretty close. We’re here to embody our soul as fully as possible and the four cards spread we used can help us with the how.
Soul Healing Spread
1 …..2…..3…..4
1. Vocation – This card gives you a clue about your life purpose in terms of your career or vocation and shows you how to maximise on the gifts of the Spirit bestowed upon you before you were even conceived.
2. Life lesson – This card shows you the main theme you need to explore and study in this lifetime in order to fully embody your soul.
3. Tweak tool – This card shows you where you often stumble and need to pause for breath/prayer in order to realign.
4. Doing right – This aspect of your soul’s embodiment is already working for you. Drawing on this strength can only help!
Begin Your Healing Journey Today
Even as we study the tarot cards, we can use the cards to heal. Each card bears a spiritual lesson as well as an interpretive value. When we embrace the spiritual message of each card, we have the opportunity to use that message to grow and heal. Tarot inspires our creativity, increases our intuition, and offers us opportunities for communication on the deepest levels. In all these ways and more, tarot is a profound tool for healing. How have you used the Tarot for healing? And what have been the results? Share your comments below.
See you all in our next session again.
March 15th 2014 Connective Session: The Full Moon
Hello,
We meet again. Its fast isn’t it?
Our last session was a full moon day. What’s so unique about the full Moon time?
Many people feel the energetic buzz of the Full Moon. What’s cool to note, is that it always means the Sun and Moon are in opposite Zodiac signs. It’s a super charged time, but also one of balance. The solar yang and the lunar yin are in harmony.
Below are five tips from “Feng Shui Your Life” for using the energy of the full moon (two days before and two days after) in the most fortuitous way:
1. Refrain from arguing and getting angry.
The full moon is the time to stay calm, let things go, breathe deeply through difficult moments and forgive others for their mistakes. Seriously, if you can’t let something go and need to communicate it (which I recommend), try to postpone sharing your upset until at least two days after the full moon. Whatever happens at this time is multiplied. It’s like having emotional fertilizer. Keep the energy moving in a happy, uplifting direction at home, work, in the car and in your every day interactions.
2. Think positive thoughts.
We all know we should think positively as much as possible but during the full moon, you’ll have a wind at your back. Your positive thoughts will be energized and multiplied. Even if you spend five minutes when you wake up and go to sleep thinking about the positive things in your life, you’ll be doing yourself a big favor.
For example, you could write a gratitude list or a thank you note to the Universe for all you have. You could look in the mirror and say nice things to yourself. You could take a walk and notice all the beauty around you. Imagine that your positive thoughts are sprinkled with full moon glitter that makes them grow exponentially.
3. Envision your dreams manifesting.
The full moon is a perfect time to do your manifestation techniques. Spend time imagining your goals and writing them down on paper. It’s also a great time to make a vision or “manifestation board.” To do this, place pictures and words of your goals on a cork or poster board and place it where you can see it every day. Spending time focusing on your dreams during the full moon gives it extra juice!
4. Meditate by yourself or in a group.
Since the full moon pours down so much energy, meditating during this time creates calm, mindfulness and stillness. You can do it by yourself in a sacred space in your home.
You can also connect with other like-minded friends to meditate in a group. There are many spiritual centers, yoga studios and online groups that come together for a full moon meditation. It’s very powerful to meditate in a group.
5. Send blessings to people in need.
Since you have the full moon power behind you, send healing energy, forgiveness, pink light and loving-kindness to friends, family, colleagues, and strangers. In addition, send peaceful energy to the places in the world experiencing strife, hardship, poverty and war. It has huge benefits for them and as a bonus, you create loads of good karma.
The full moon is a great time to be of service and do acts of kindness.
See you all in our next session again.
With Love & Light,
Katherine Goh
March 2nd 2014 Connective Session: Each to its own needs
We splitted this session as participants have two different connective needs . One participant was concerned about his decision on moving new house and others will be working on Self- Exploration.
Many of us go through life skimming the surface of our identities. That is, we don’t truly dig deeply into our thoughts, feelings, desires and dreams. Part of the problem is that we’re always on the go. When to-do lists keep swelling, self-exploration takes a backseat. How can it not, when we barely find time for self-care? Specifically, self-exploration involves “taking a look at your own thoughts, feelings, behaviors and motivations and asking why. It’s looking for the roots of who we are.
The distance between your inner reality and yourself is only YOU. So this session aligned with the new moon energy, we uses crescent spread to explore our own thoughts and motivations. We are taking a look/ take stocks of our life on these few major theme.
1) Manifestation
2) Expectation
3) Faith
4) Practice
After which we explored on our spiritual life lessons using the Lotus Spread. Some of the questions we explored are
1. Who am I?
2. What is my lesson right now?
3. How can I grow spiritually at this time?
4. How else can I grow spiritually at this time?
5. Who am I becoming?
6. What’s my biggest challenge at this time?
7. Where am I headed?
Note that , Transformation is the power of Love in action. What’s your transformation for the last year?
On the other side of the room,  we have a participant who is concerned with the idea of moving house, we have decided to engage 2 spreads to explore further insights relating to this event. We embarked on two spreads, namely “House Location Spread” and “Moving Spread” specially customised for the participant.
Some of the questions we were guided by the readings are:
  • Something you need to know about this spot.
  • What needs to happen before you can move.
  •  doubts & wishes before the move
  • hopes & fears after the move
What’s the one thing you’re never gonna give up?
I sat down. I was Meditating. A question came to my presence. “What’s the one thing you’re never gonna give up?”. I feel within myself, in search for an answer ; I meditate on this question. I have an answer. That is LOVE.
Never give up on something that you can’t go a day without thinking about. For me, that is LOVE.
I am In Love everyday. From the moment i open my eyes in the mornings, i will anticipate my day with love. The Love for my Work, my husband, my family and friends…practically EVERYTHING. I gave my love to them and i felt the Love they have for me. I am bless. We are bless.
I’m not gonna give up Love. How about you? Ponder on this question and do share with me your thoughts.
Oracle Guidance for September 2012
ULTIMATE is the energy for the new spiritual year and began on September 1st. This is a time to plan ahead and use your creativity to make a difference in the world.
The coming year will be a time of living to the ULTIMATE. You are now ready to make what you have been planning into something more solid and concrete. Your standards will need to be the highest they have ever been and it is important to clarify your own inner policies and processes, the rules and regulations you live your life by. By being loyal to yourself first (meaning making yourself happy before you try to make others happy), you will be an inspiration to many people in your immediate and worldly environment.
Before you can do anything for anyone else, decide what your ULTIMATE goals need to be this year in your (A) personal Life (B) business Life and (C) social Life. Do not compromise. Allow it to formulate and build it step-by-step in your mind so you do not take anything for granted. Do not make excuses for yourself (or others) because this will undermine everything you are setting your energy to do. Do not say to yourself: I do not have the money or the time. If you truly want it, it will happen – as long as you organize yourself with the facts of (1) what (2) when (3) where and (4) why. The fifth “w” (who) is what you and others will personally gain from what you have created.
Everyone comes to planet Earth with a mission in mind. We did not come here NOT to be successful. We especially did not come here to suffer or undermine our talents and abilities to live our potential. As long as you have the passion to do the ULTIMATE, nothing can stand in your way – not even yourself!
This card asks you to set aside doubts or worries, and to feel secure that everything is positive. Your plan is going to work out, your desires are going to happen, and probably in better-than-expected ways. Imagine that your dreams has already come true, using your inner vision and your feelings as you do. You just need to stay filled with faith and hope, and take action when you’re guided.
I will leave you with a note from the Universe to ponder and appreciates:
5 Ways to create Good Karma
In its most basic sense, the Law of Karma in the moral sphere teaches that similar actions will lead to similar results. Let us take an example. If we plant a mango seed, the plant that springs up will be a mango tree, and eventually it will bear a mango fruit. Alternatively, if we plant a Pong Pong seed, the tree that will spring up will be a Pong Pong tree and the fruit a Pong Pong. As one sows, so shall one reap. According to one’s action, so shall be the fruit. Similarly, in the Law of Karma, if we do a wholesome action, eventually we will get a wholesome fruit, and if we do an unwholesome action eventually we will get an unwholesome, painful result. This is what we mean when we say that causes bring about effects that are similar to the causes.
The law of Karma teaches that responsibility for harmful actions lies with the person who commits them. Karma thus has to do with cause and effect. Every action you take creates the cause for events to happen to you. This means that, every single thing that happens to you – good and bad – is in truth caused by you, yourself, your own actions and your own thoughts. There is no escape from one’s karma. There are many ways to create good karma.
  • ACTIONS REPEATEDLY DONE CREATE POWERFUL KARMA
When the same action is repeated many times, be it good or bad, powerful karma gets created. Actions directed at powerful objects such as one’s parents, one’s spiritual teachers or at monks, nuns or temple priests also create powerful karma. This is true of even the smallest disrespectful act or the smallest virtuous action.
The karmic results of actions done to powerful objects can usually be experienced in this life. Suffering results come from negative actions while favorable results arise from virtuous actions. It thus follows that we should really be very mindful of our actions and the thoughts that accompany our actions, because it is from mindfulness that we can develop habits that lead to actions that create good karma. This is especially important in the present era, a time Hindu masters refer to as the period of the kali yoga when karmic results tend to ripen much faster, usually within this same lifetime.
  • CHANT A MANTRA
Chanting mantras is the easiest way of getting started on the road towards opening new horizons for the mind. To start with, it is a very powerful way to purify the negative karmic imprints we all bring into the world with us. Negative imprints linger on in every one’s consciousness, the mind-stream that we carry from one lifetime to the next. Start with the most famous mantra in the world, the mantra of the Compassionate Buddha:  Om Mani Padme Hum
This is a very popular mantra. It is wonderfully uplifting as it is the mantra of the Buddha of Compassion whom the Chinese know as the Goddess Kuan Yin. Reciting one mala of this mantra 108 times a day will awaken hidden yogic abilities within you. This mantra will calm your fears, soothe your concerns, heal your broken heart and answer all your prayers. Chant this mantra aloud, as you eat, as you bathe, as you make up your face or when you are waiting for someone or for something. You can chant it anytime anywhere. Chant it aloud or silently, inside your head, inside your mind. Asleep. Awake. Let this mantra permeate your being. Do not worry about the pronunciation. What is important is your motivation.
While reciting the mantra try to concentrate on its sound and allow it to penetrate deep within, into your inner consciousness and eventually, into your subconscious mind. Always chant it with the thought of benefiting others. It will not take you long to sense wonderful benefits permeating through your consciousness. In no time at all, you will feel yourself become kinder, more tolerant, and less prone to getting upset.
Many high lamas say that just reciting Om Mani Padme Hum can bring us all to Enlightenment, simple and easy though it is. This mantra is one of the ten most powerful mantras of all time.
  •  MAKE KINDNESS YOUR RELIGION – My religion is kindness
Creating good karma is not about being religious. One need not even be a Buddhist or belong to any religious faith to create good karma. What you do need is to develop a kind attitude towards others. So creating good karma is simply about being kind. Not just for a moment but always, throughout one’s life, in every aspect of our living, in every relationship – in the way we conduct our business, in all our interactions – when you approach everything you do motivated by an attitude of kindness, you are creating a great deal of good karma, the kind that creates the cause for others to be kind to you. It is the surest way of developing a life where aggravations simply dissipate.
  • PRACTICE SPIRITUAL MEDITATION
When you sit down on a cushion with your legs crossed, your spine straight and your eyes slightly closed looking three feet in front of you, the first thing to do is to set your motivation. Tune into your mind and focus on why you are doing the meditation – to develop your mind to benefit all beings. Setting this altruistic motivation establishes the basis of meditation practices. And from then on you can meditate on any subject related to the development of your understanding of life. When you meditate this way lightly reflecting on how precious your life is, how lucky you are to have been born at all, to be alive and to be well … in time you will come to realize just how lucky you really are in just having a human life, having the ability to think, to analyze, to understand and yes, to philosophize. This is how meditation can lead to wisdom realizations and good karma.
I have blogged some time back that meditation is therapeutic. Check out the post here.
  • CONNECT WITH A SPIRITUAL TEACHER
Start by meditating on your path to ultimate happiness, the kind that is permanent rather than transient. Think through all the things that make you happy and slowly come to the realization that nothing makes us happy forever. All of life is in the nature of impermanence. The pathway to ultimate happiness is elusive and permanent happiness seems so impossible to attain, since in the end we all grow old and die … so unless we are able to grasp new attitudes and perspectives; new ways of rationalizing our existence, how can we find permanent happiness?
To see the light, we need to connect with a spiritual teacher who has affinity with us and who can open our eyes to a greater awareness of our own Buddha nature, our own spirituality, our own continuing consciousness which lives on from life to life. By generating the desire to meet a special teacher who can show us the way to think and meditate correctly, we are creating the cause for just such a sage to manifest in our life. The genuine and heartfelt inner expectation of wanting to connect with a higher spiritual being generates the karma for it to manifest. And then when you are ready, the right teacher for you, will come along. As i have always said: “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear”
Waking Up is Not Enough
I was listening to a preview clip by Rinzai Zen patriarchs Jun Po Roshi and Doshin Roshi with Keith Martin-Smith while i was browsing in the net one day. In the discussion, Rinzai Zen patriarchs Jun Po Roshi and Doshin Roshi discuss why meditation and spiritual insight alone cannot transform ourselves or the world. From an Integral point of view, simply “Waking Up” isn’t enough. We are also being called to” Grow Up” (mature emotionally and psychologically), “Clean Up” (engage in shadow work), and “Show Up” (embody our insight in our daily lives).
This is much akin to “Awareness”, “Growth”,”Clean Up our baggage” and “Take Action” which i have shared in our sessions. A different words but may have the same meanings.
Pure Awareness is definitely not enough. I totally agree with the two masters –  Rinzai Zen patriarchs Jun Po Roshi and Doshin Rosh. Awareness is only the first step to enlightenment. But what’s the point with just awareness and not doing anything? Therefore, we must Learn, Adjust and Grow in our daily lives. Didn’t we mention before, if you stopped learning, you stopped living?
As we grow, we learn. Simultaneously, we must also clean up our baggage – those stuffs that do not serve us well. Holding onto baggage (attachments) will only hinders our learning journey. But we must acknowledge that these “baggage” were there for a purpose – to let us learn something. Once we learnt the lessons, we must let it go and “housekeeping” our shadow work.
Lastly, Take Action. Apply what we have learnt in our life. Embody these learning in our daily living.
May Enlightenment be with us. Namaste Om.
“From this point of view, Enlightenment is essentially two embodied realizations. First, Enlightenment is the direct realization of your Bud — the naked pure consciousness found deep within your ordinary mind. We call this realization wisdom. And second, Enlightenment is the realization of the fearless heart found in the profound depth of this wisdom. We call this realization compassion. But please be aware: Enlightenment is also the philosophical and emotional re-indoctrination and reformation following this discovery. To accomplish this philosophical and emotional maturity we offer Mondo Zen. Zen Enlightenment is the marriage of this wisdom realization and the unconditional love realization—all embodied in our daily lives.” –Jun Po Kelly Roshi
God’s Milk – Instead of being a cup, become a straw
God’s nature is to constantly bestow its love upon us. As the sages say, “more than the calf wants to suckle, the cow wants to provide it with milk.”
However having the capacity to accept it and being fulfilled by it is very difficult to do. Just look around at people in the world who receive a great deal of energy — talent, adoration, money, power. It takes a level of maturity to handle such light. How many young celebrities come out ahead and how many fall apart.
According to Kabbalah the way that we can be a constant receiver of such energy is to become a channel rather than a vessel. Instead of being a cup, become a straw. In this way, energy flows through us, rather than stopping with us.
How do we shift from a cup to a straw. Becoming more of a sharer, less of a receiver. Please note: I use the word “becoming” instead of “become.” Achieving this state is hard, it’s an ongoing process, and it’s played out throughout the course of our lives.
Be the Boxer in your life
Life’s tests don’t come when we’re prepared for them. They come when we’re not. How spiritual we are isn’t just about how much we smile or share – it’s also what we do when we get tested.
One thing’s for sure: our inner opponent is never going to take us on when we are ready. One way to insure we make it through those trying moments is to conduct ourselves like boxers – keep hitting even when we’re hurt, and let our natural instincts take over.
The idea is to train our soul. To make our standard action an affirmative one. Start by making your small reactions more positive, and you’ll soon hold up when the big challenges come at you.
Learn to be the Boxer in your life.
