What’s the one thing you’re never gonna give up?

I sat down. I was Meditating. A question came to my presence. “What’s the one thing you’re never gonna give up?”. I feel within myself, in search for an answer ; I meditate on this question. I have an answer. That is LOVE.

Never give up on something that you can’t go a day without thinking about. For me, that is LOVE.

I am In Love everyday. From the moment i open my eyes in the mornings, i will anticipate my day with love. The Love for my Work, my husband, my family and friends…practically EVERYTHING. I gave my love to them and i felt the Love they have for me. I am bless. We are bless.

I’m not gonna give up Love. How about you? Ponder on this question and do share with me your thoughts.

5 Ways to create Good Karma

In its most basic sense, the Law of Karma in the moral sphere teaches that similar actions will lead to similar results. Let us take an example. If we plant a mango seed, the plant that springs up will be a mango tree, and eventually it will bear a mango fruit. Alternatively, if we plant a Pong Pong seed, the tree that will spring up will be a Pong Pong tree and the fruit a Pong Pong. As one sows, so shall one reap. According to one’s action, so shall be the fruit. Similarly, in the Law of Karma, if we do a wholesome action, eventually we will get a wholesome fruit, and if we do an unwholesome action eventually we will get an unwholesome, painful result. This is what we mean when we say that causes bring about effects that are similar to the causes.

The law of Karma teaches that responsibility for harmful actions lies with the person who commits them. Karma thus has to do with cause and effect. Every action you take creates the cause for events to happen to you. This means that, every single thing that happens to you – good and bad – is in truth caused by you, yourself, your own actions and your own thoughts. There is no escape from one’s karma. There are many ways to create good karma.

  • ACTIONS REPEATEDLY DONE CREATE POWERFUL KARMA

When the same action is repeated many times, be it good or bad, powerful karma gets created. Actions directed at powerful objects such as one’s parents, one’s spiritual teachers or at monks, nuns or temple priests also create powerful karma. This is true of even the smallest disrespectful act or the smallest virtuous action.

The karmic results of actions done to powerful objects can usually be experienced in this life. Suffering results come from negative actions while favorable results arise from virtuous actions. It thus follows that we should really be very mindful of our actions and the thoughts that accompany our actions, because it is from mindfulness that we can develop habits that lead to actions that create good karma. This is especially important in the present era, a time Hindu masters refer to as the period of the kali yoga when karmic results tend to ripen much faster, usually within this same lifetime.

  • CHANT A MANTRA

Chanting mantras is the easiest way of getting started on the road towards opening new horizons for the mind. To start with, it is a very powerful way to purify the negative karmic imprints we all bring into the world with us. Negative imprints linger on in every one’s consciousness, the mind-stream that we carry from one lifetime to the next. Start with the most famous mantra in the world, the mantra of the Compassionate Buddha:  Om Mani Padme Hum

This is a very popular mantra. It is wonderfully uplifting as it is the mantra of the Buddha of Compassion whom the Chinese know as the Goddess Kuan Yin. Reciting one mala of this mantra 108 times a day will awaken hidden yogic abilities within you. This mantra will calm your fears, soothe your concerns, heal your broken heart and answer all your prayers. Chant this mantra aloud, as you eat, as you bathe, as you make up your face or when you are waiting for someone or for something. You can chant it anytime anywhere. Chant it aloud or silently, inside your head, inside your mind. Asleep. Awake. Let this mantra permeate your being. Do not worry about the pronunciation. What is important is your motivation.

While reciting the mantra try to concentrate on its sound and allow it to penetrate deep within, into your inner consciousness and eventually, into your subconscious mind. Always chant it with the thought of benefiting others. It will not take you long to sense wonderful benefits permeating through your consciousness. In no time at all, you will feel yourself become kinder, more tolerant, and less prone to getting upset.

Many high lamas say that just reciting Om Mani Padme Hum can bring us all to Enlightenment, simple and easy though it is. This mantra is one of the ten most powerful mantras of all time.

  •  MAKE KINDNESS YOUR RELIGION – My religion is kindness

Creating good karma is not about being religious. One need not even be a Buddhist or belong to any religious faith to create good karma. What you do need is to develop a kind attitude towards others. So creating good karma is simply about being kind. Not just for a moment but always, throughout one’s life, in every aspect of our living, in every relationship – in the way we conduct our business, in all our interactions – when you approach everything you do motivated by an attitude of kindness, you are creating a great deal of good karma, the kind that creates the cause for others to be kind to you. It is the surest way of developing a life where aggravations simply dissipate.

  • PRACTICE SPIRITUAL MEDITATION

When you sit down on a cushion with your legs crossed, your spine straight and your eyes slightly closed looking three feet in front of you, the first thing to do is to set your motivation. Tune into your mind and focus on why you are doing the meditation – to develop your mind to benefit all beings. Setting this altruistic motivation establishes the basis of meditation practices. And from then on you can meditate on any subject related to the development of your understanding of life. When you meditate this way lightly reflecting on how precious your life is, how lucky you are to have been born at all, to be alive and to be well … in time you will come to realize just how lucky you really are in just having a human life, having the ability to think, to analyze, to understand and yes, to philosophize. This is how meditation can lead to wisdom realizations and good karma.

I have blogged some time back that meditation is therapeutic. Check out the post here.

  • CONNECT WITH A SPIRITUAL TEACHER

Start by meditating on your path to ultimate happiness, the kind that is permanent rather than transient. Think through all the things that make you happy and slowly come to the realization that nothing makes us happy forever. All of life is in the nature of impermanence. The pathway to ultimate happiness is elusive and permanent happiness seems so impossible to attain, since in the end we all grow old and die … so unless we are able to grasp new attitudes and perspectives; new ways of rationalizing our existence, how can we find permanent happiness?

To see the light, we need to connect with a spiritual teacher who has affinity with us and who can open our eyes to a greater awareness of our own Buddha nature, our own spirituality, our own continuing consciousness which lives on from life to life. By generating the desire to meet a special teacher who can show us the way to think and meditate correctly, we are creating the cause for just such a sage to manifest in our life. The genuine and heartfelt inner expectation of wanting to connect with a higher spiritual being generates the karma for it to manifest. And then when you are ready, the right teacher for you, will come along. As i have always said: “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear”

Lord be with you my Dearest Patient; Dearest Friend…

I had been healing this patient since 29th Jan 2009 by word of mouth introduction from other patients. She was one of my breast cancer triple negative case patient. We have been fighting this long and hard battle since 2009 but on 9th of June 2012 (last saturday) early evening she was called home to Lord.

I remembered when she first came to me 4 years ago, she said that her doctor told her that she was left with 3 months. She was wearing a pink scarf, looking scared, tired and frail. After intensive healing sessions including the combination of Reiki , Meditation, Crystal healing and TCM methods all combined, we saw glimpse of hope. She was once again Pretty, Confidence, Happy and she went back to work. Her medical report shown tumors were softer, smaller and less active. We were excited and thrilled. I suggested her to go holiday with her husband to her favorite country – Japan.

Coming back….

I was recollecting my healing time with her for the past 4 years, 4 months and 12 days…i am holding her very very thick patient file that was filed with her medical reports including blood tests, CT Scan Report and X-Rays..etc. I knew she had fight a tough battle. She was a courageous woman, my patient; my friend.

We knew her time will not be long…during her last few healing session, her life force was very very weak. Her breathing meditation was difficult, her Chakras were not aligned despite concentration of energy light on her.

I told her in January 2012 that she had to prepare whatever she wanted. Such as the type of funeral ceremony, her last resting place..etc. Most importantly, communicate with her family and spending time with them. She did it !

I last saw her in my healing room on the April 3rd 2012. As i was travelling for medical conferences and business trips, we could not arrange healing sessions that matched our time . According to her husband, during her last chapter of her journey, she was in/out of the hospital.

Both of us (healer & patient) had done our best. We both FIGHT,WALKED the journey and BELIEVE in Faith. These were her last words…

Her husband sent me a text message yesterday. I do not know what vocabulary i can use to describe my feelings except that i know i will continue my path as a healer to touch more lives that crosses my path. Period.

I am grateful to her for trusting me all these years and I will always Missed her and may Lord be with her.

The Mayonnaise Jar

A Soviet mayonnaise jar, a container glass

When things in your life seem, almost too much to handle, when 24 Hours in a day is not enough, Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee story. I do not know who is the real author…but thanks for his wise sharing….there it goes..

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students, if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous ‘yes.’ The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed. ‘Now,’ said the professor, as the laughter subsided, ‘I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things – family, children, health, friends, and favorite passions – Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else –The small stuff. ‘If you put the sand into the jar first,’ he continued, there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.

The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. So…Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play With your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first — the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. ‘I’m glad you asked’. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.’

God’s Milk – Instead of being a cup, become a straw

God’s nature is to constantly bestow its love upon us. As the sages say, “more than the calf wants to suckle, the cow wants to provide it with milk.”

However having the capacity to accept it and being fulfilled by it is very difficult to do. Just look around at people in the world who receive a great deal of energy — talent, adoration, money, power. It takes a level of maturity to handle such light. How many young celebrities come out ahead and how many fall apart.

According to Kabbalah the way that we can be a constant receiver of such energy is to become a channel rather than a vessel. Instead of being a cup, become a straw. In this way, energy flows through us, rather than stopping with us.

How do we shift from a cup to a straw. Becoming more of a sharer, less of a receiver. Please note: I use the word “becoming” instead of “become.” Achieving this state is hard, it’s an ongoing process, and it’s played out throughout the course of our lives.

(from Kabbalah’s teachings)

It’s Called Gratitude…

We radiate a different kind of energy when we’re frowning and gloomy, as opposed to when we’re smiling and happy. Smiling is a sign saying, “Enter,” whereas frowning says, “Do Not Disturb.”

Many of us find it hard to smile because we’re consumed with what’s missing in our lives. If only we woke up every morning with the consciousness that everything we have is on loan, it would be much easier to smile.

Think about how much brighter our lives would be if we spent more time obsessing over gratitude rather than lack.

The Law of Attraction often states that having a heart filled with gratitude will attract positive energy, new opportunities, love, friendship, and possibly even wealth.

Today, ask yourself what are you grateful for? I find it best to write it down in a self-made gratitude book, but if its too troublesome, you can also say it out loud in front of the mirror every morning when you wake up. Thanks to technology, we have i-gratitude application, a digital gratitude book that we can digitally record our gratitude in our Iphone & Ipad too.

Smart people practice gratitude. Be the Smart Woman or Man Now.

Live our life to the Fullest,

What makes you happy?

What makes you happy? Well, some of my friends like running, some enjoy a good book, while others prefer unicorns, glitter, and rainbows.

But here’s 5 easy ways that’ll make ANYBODY happy, no matter your personal preference. And why should you get happy right now? ‘Cause it’ll improve your health, stress levels, state of mind and give you a better perspective on your life

  1. Express gratitude! Either do it in a journal, say it to someone, or record it on GratitudeLog.com for everyone to see. Don’t just think it, express it. Just doing so will increase your happiness by 20–25%! So why not take a few minutes each day and say what you’re thankful for. It’s worth the joy you’ll receive.
  2. Unfollow negative people on Facebook and Twitter. Chances are you’ve got one or two people on Twitter of Facebook who seem to always have something negative to say. They might complain about traffic jams or work, but either way, it can be a big drain on your energy and mood. Remember, you are the sum of the 5 people you choose to hang around so choose wisely. If someone on Twitter is overly negative, just unfollow them. And if someone on Facebook is too negative, just click the little Hide button next to their names and you won’t see them in your feed anymore. Instead get fun and uplifting updates from POSITIVE People. And for more laughs and inspiration, here are some of my favorite people on Twitter to follow: P. Diddy, comedians Sarah katherinegoh and katcova, Louise Hay and Deepak Chopra.
  3. Lift your head and smile. Lots of studies have been pouring in that prove your physiology affects your psychology. If you’re slumped over and frowning, you’re going to feel down and mopey. So instead, smile. Smile to everyone you see and smile to yourself. Lift your head up, look up, and smile. Do it right now. It’s a lot harder to be depressed when your body is showing all the signs of joy.
  4. Meditate now. You don’t need a lot of time to do this and you don’t need any fancy candles or incense (for simple basic meditation). Just go into a quiet room, set your alarm or timer for 15 minutes and you’re set. Even if you don’t have your favorite meditation audio, that’s okay. Just take the time to focus on your breath, clear your mind, and welcome clarity and focus. When you take the time to de-stress like this on a regular basis, you’ll be amazed at the positive effects. If you only unwind and relax on the weekend, you’ll find yourself more stressed out and unhealthy in the long run. It’s like starving yourself for a week only to eat after 7 days. Instead just take 10–15 minutes and relax everyday by meditating. You’ll see the difference soon.
  5. Watch some funny videos that inspire! Thanks to the internet and Youtube we’ve been given a delicious buffet of inspirational videos. If you don’t know where to start check out the videos – Pay It Forward in a post i have updated. The video will most definitely make you smile.

If you’ve got any other tips to help get our happy on, drop a comment below Can’t wait to read them.

Will You Pay It Forward?

We have an unlimited capacity to give. Though, many people don’t recognize this capacity. They fear that they don’t have enough to give. That they’re not important enough to change anyone’s life. They are wrong.

Random Acts Of Kindness
If you don’t practice, and understand, the simple power of a random act of kindness, then you are setting limits on your life. Those limits keep you from living a life filled with the fun and joy that comes from simply being nice.

A reminder of the important things in life

The key to inner peace, well being and a fulfilling life may be simpler than we think…  : )

I came across a beautiful short clip today in Youtube…A two minute forty-three second video “A Reminder Of The Important Things In Life,” captures the core essence of the principles for living life with a full heart and spirit, and feeling fulfilled. So far, this is the best SIMPLE example of how to live life to the fullest. And simple IS best.

I’m often asked “why are you always so full of Joy?” “How is it you are always so happy?” “Where do you get those positive vibes?”

Some people falsely assume it’s because I have created financial freedom for myself and don’t need to worry about money (well, you always have money ‘challenges’ it’s just the number of zeros on the end of the ‘invoice’ that increases along with your wealth! You simple have better quality financial challenges.)

Others assume it’s because of things that are outside of myself.

(Really, nothing outside of us can MAKE us feel happy, sad or other-wise. These may trigger our internal belief systems and previous experiences and the meanings we (unconsciously) give them. (TRUTH is ALL emotion is an internally generated experience based on our beliefs and the meanings we attach to the experiences. We CAN CHOOSE the meanings.)

The truth is, I mostly live in an emotional state of Joy and Happiness by CHOICE, and regular mental and emotional conditioning.

Being open and learning to love ourselves and each other with kindness, compassion and gratitude enables us to feel a sense of inner peace and well being. It also enables us to regain something that many of us have seemingly lost — our sense of “connection”

May this short video be A REMINDER OF THE IMPORTANT THINGS IN LIFE…. and it really is this simple. Enjoy this clip and remember to embrace the important things in life.

Namaste,

Katherine Goh
